New ambulance for the DRK Wallenhorst

The Wallenhorst branch of the German Red Cross (DRK) is delighted with its new ambulance. This was financed in particular by donations from PURPLAN and its dedicated employees.

The plant manufacturer PURPLAN recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and used this opportunity to collect donations for the DRK. PURPLAN and the independent companies of the PUR Group Purconsult, PURenergy, Purplan International and PURelectric, as well as their employees, took part. In this way, an impressive €3000 was raised, including €440.20 from the employees, as Dirks-Sandmann happily reports.

The new vehicle is a further step towards improving disaster control in the region. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, it meets the highest standards for the extended rescue service. It has the latest medical equipment, communication technology and safety devices to provide the volunteer rescue teams with the best possible conditions for their life-saving work. The vehicle was purchased second-hand. "Our volunteers have shown great commitment and spent several days refurbishing the vehicle and helping with their knowledge in various areas." Sebastian Keimer was particularly pleased about this.

The German Red Cross depends on its volunteers. The rescue service is always on hand, but without the volunteer emergency services and first responders of the German Red Cross, there could be significant delays in patient care. This can have fatal consequences if first aid, such as resuscitation or a child emergency, has to be provided quickly. All volunteers receive basic medical training, such as for advanced resuscitation and much more.

The DRK also supports training to become a paramedic. As the German Red Cross in Wallenhorst does not receive any state funding, it is dependent on donations. This not only finances the medical equipment and the training of the volunteers, but also the equipment of the rescue vehicles and their maintenance. Although the DRK is happy to receive any kind of donation, earmarked donations are a great relief, especially in view of the high fixed costs. The generous donation from PURPLAN, which made the purchase of the new ambulance possible, is also an important symbol of appreciation for the life-saving work that the DRK does every day.
